Sad To See It Go: No

I think the first time I heard Exile was on an 8-track my friend John got in the early 80's.  I got a vinyl copy used at some point before the CD era and never really noticed the different track order.  I don't think I ever got a remaster CD beyond one of those Sony butcher jobs of the 80's.    Exile was a long album of songs, some of which I knew as hits ("Happy," "Tumbling Dice"), some that were personal favorites over time ("Loving Cup," "Torn And Frayed," "All Down The Line, "Rocks Off"), some that were standard bearers of familiarity ("Rip This Joint,"  "Sweet Black Angel," "Shine A Light") and a clump of songs throughout that I never seem to remember how they go when I see the title whether I remember them in actuality or not no matter how many times I've heard the album in whatever format over the years.

That doesn't mean there aren't some great songs in the "clump."  Hearing "Ventilator Blues" this second makes me ask how did I forget that one?  I just never associate it with the title, just the vocal of the opening line that my brain translates to "when your...mahr maahr mayer mare and your...hand's don't SHAKE!...which upon review is "where your spine is cracking and your hands they shake."

I guess that means about the same thing.
