Whatever you want to call it IV (as YouTube and the RIAA have it) or Zoso or the Ruins Album or Untitled (as Discogs has it), this 1971 Led Zeppelin release is probably the most (over)played Rock album of all time. With good reason. I'm sick of it beyond all critical capacity, but on some level there isn't anything on it I don't find consistantly enjoyable.
I start to zone in on segments: the keyboard transition of "Four Sticks," the solo on "When The Levee Breaks," Sandy Denny on "The Ballad of Evermore" and I could go on an on. 8 songs 8 serious hits suitable for background or foreground even if I never need to hear it again.
Does anybody remember laughter?
