Probably the best complete discography after the Beatles, Led Zeppelin's third is a departure into the realm of one of a kindness erupting out of nicked tangential blooze.  A Billboard number one album with a #16 hit in "The Immigrant Song," yet still considered among the least commercial of their releases.

In terms of quality, I rank Zep like this: Zoso-II-I-III-Phys-Houses-In Through-Presence.  In terms of desire to listen, if you had all the albums in front of me this second,  I might say Phys-Presence-In Through-III-I-II-Zoso-Houses.  Always, in the middle of the pack for me that 3, but still an A+ record.

Why?  Let's start with my favorite Zep song Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp.  Slappin' and clappin' and stompin' it's way into my heart and yours.  It's irresistible to me.  Best cranker? "Out On The Tiles."  Prettiest? "Tangerine."  Worst? "Since I've Been Loving You," which explodes.

The hits "The Immigrant Song" (b/w "Hey Hey What Can I Do" not here) and "Gallows Pole" are in the middle of the pack for me.

And I haven't even begun to discuss "Celebration Day!"

Ma-ma-ma I'm so happy!
