Columbus Ohio's Gibson Brothers were pretty well into their discography when Sympathy For The Record Industry put out this covers single in 1991.  The A-Side was a spitting version of the Avengers ode to the working man and the B-side was a live knock off of Cab Calloway minus the most known refrain.

Jon Spencer joined Don Rowland and Jeff Evans on this one and even delivered backing vocals.  One could argue if using racist imagery to make an anti-racist statement is in fact, ultimately racist and poking a bear, but the culture of punk rock flyer imagery always got away with that before the internet.  In all honesty, in the 34 years or so I've had this record I don't think I fully looked at the cover to see just HOW offensive it could be seen.  Certainly, to textbook publisher Mosby it could be slander if it wasn't so clearly a parody. What did they REALLY mean when they wrote "Fuck Homestead and the A-Bones?"
