Jon Spencer generally puts out an "alternate version" of his records.  Word on the street is this one was better than Acme.  Although I loyally bought titles like Crypt Style, Mo' Width and Experimental Remixes paired with previous albums, they were generally treated as completist play once and file away purchases in their day and this was no different.  There were different, shorter versions all over the world: Extra Acme and Ura-Acme on vinyl for Japan and Acme-Plus for Europe.   For me, JSBX is better on singles with two exceptions, the twin towers of Extra Width and Orange. 

With this edition, it's fuckin' long and packed with filler.  72 minutes and I never really liked the main record that much as you can see from my entry last week of the core album this sold with.  I'm making my way through a second streaming pass this week, and the songs that I liked on Acme, I like here.  The best one there, "Torture" is nowhere to be found here.    I guess "Magical Colors" riff stands out for me a little more today. 

 "Leave Me Alone So I Can Rock Again" is probably the best of the batch.  "Bacon" is a nice overdriven number with strings tacked on that works in the JSBX tradition. "Lap Dance" with later period Andre Williams is a fun diversion from the labor of listening to this start to finish.  "Electricity" sounds like a Misfits track. You'd have a couple A-singles with those 4 tracks for the jukebox series.  

Listening to 3 minute rock n roll shouldn't feel like hard labor.
