The late 80's new wave of grunge prompted a ton of pressing of questionable origin. The Mudhoney Peel Sessions (May 9th or 14th 1989 depending on where you look) was immediately sought after. I seem to remember getting this around 1990. Three of these four tracks came out on The John Peel Sub-Pop Sessions compilation the label put out in 1994, with "If I Think" remaining. Everything came out officially in 2000 on Fuel 2000's Here Comes Sickness: The Best of The BBC Sessions.
The timeline from when I first saw the band in the Fall of 1988 to the release of Superfuzz Bigmuff EP to the late 1989 release of the self titled album plops these recordings somewhere in the middle. "If I Think" was out, "Here Comes Sickness" and "By Her Own Hand" were coming out on the album, and the Thee Mighty Caesars/Billy Childish cover of "You Make Me Die" found it's way on the B-side of the Sub Pop Singles Club single in July 1990 with "You're Gone" on the A-side.
More history than one might care about unless they were shelling out $30.
