This Mudhoney album I liked in it's day, but it leans heavily to "scene criticism" that dates badly.  You wonder why anyone cared least of all me of topics like "Generation Spokesmodel" and "Into Yer Shtik."  Now someone else is the Spokesmodel and it's someone new that has an inflated public personae.

That said, "Into Yer Shtik" was a single for a reason.  The king of grunge that took the crown from Mark Arm was suddenly dead and he pays tribute to his fallen brother the best way he knows how.  By railing against his wife.  I was surprised WEA’s legal team let this into corporate distribution.  I poked around the internet and lo and behold, someone took the time to write an article about this.  Second best song on the record.

The actual best song on the record is a bit more positive, "Today Is A Good Day."  The rest are standard Mudhoney except the last track is the entire album backward.

All fuckin' 33 minutes and 42 seconds of it.
