On this split single of  early hardcore covers, Mudhoney takes on the 1980 Angry Samoans' classic "You Stupid Asshole" while Gas Huffer does Seattle's Silly Killers "Knife Manual” from 1982.

Silly Killers housed Guns 'n Roses Duff McKagen for their single before he went to richer climes.  Angry Samoans are still going today in one form or another.  The tribute a decade on makes sense in an influential sorta way.

Records like this existed to be bought amidst a bunch of other records.  Classic and filler at the same time.  In 1992 both these bands were established finely honed machines.  Angry Samoans were and are.  Silly Killers was more of a one-off hardcore nugget.
