Sad To See It Go: No

This little run of Dylan titles sold concludes (for now) with a double SACD of Blonde on Blonde that sold with Blood On The Tracks last week.  Much has been written about this album, and it is safe to say that it stands with the holy mid sixties trinity that is Bringing It All Back Home-Highway 61 Revisited-Blonde on Blonde.  There isn't really anything to add to that except maybe only Desire tops these three records for me.

I still have my beat up mono copy passed down from my mom complete with child's crayon scrawl from "playing library" or whatever bizarre cataloging system I had in early childhood.  I might have the second edition CD floating around that I mailed in to Columbia in 1987 or so because "Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands" was cut off and remastered.  However, the mighty SACD edition of 2003, in it's state of the art 2003 mastering, is now out the door.

I remember Mary Lou Lord telling me "Visions of Johanna" was her absolute favorite Dylan song because of the line "the ghost of electricity howls through the bones of her face."  I'm trying to think of something else specific, although I remember my mom particularly liked "Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands" but details are lost to said ghosts of electricity.

As for me, my itch is mostly scratched with "Most Likely You'll Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine" no matter the era.    I was trying to find some video with Charlie Sexton on it searching for an extended outro I liked when I saw it, but it wasn't there.  I did find one from the mid-90's with Bob playing guitar in Edinburgh.  There's probably tons of 1974 versions with the Band flying around now that that gazillion CD set produced in time to save extended copyright came out.  I'll let you hunt that down yourself.  Sometimes you just gotta leave memories to that electrical ghost.

I'm feeling more and more that way every day.
