With this summer's upcoming reformation dates, it made sense that at least one of my three copies of (What's The Story) Morning Glory? would finally sell after many years of gathering dust on a shelf.  I bought my own copy in the early aughts after nearly a decade of ignoring the band completely, and a couple former roommates discarded CD collections insured that I would have this album for many years to come.  This one sold with it's follow up Be Here Now for a few dollars each since these titles were mega-pressed and sold beyond having any great dollar value for decades.

This was the breakthrough that I irrationally hated and most certainly ignored even when my buddy John praised it's Beatlesque virtues.  They even made a fairly obscure George Harrison soundtrack reference into the smash hit "Wonderwall."

Coming out of but close enough to the grunge era, Morning Glory still sounds surprisingly loud and proud a few decades later without having the oversaturated sound that plagued their later records.  I've still held on to an instinctive snobbery that this album still can't possibly be any good and am finding it very hard to say it is a straight A record.  Despite quality song after quality song, I have an intense desire to poke holes in The Story, but there are no holes to be had

Blame it on the tabloids.
