Ann Magnuson monologues and Kramer's psychedelic echo chamber that were Bongwater were close to the end of their run in 1992.  This was recorded in 1991 and issued the following year as part of Strange Fruit's seemingly endless series of BBC recorded 4-song EP's.

The covers were Roky Erickson's "You Don't Love Me Yet" and The Weavers "Kisses Sweeter Than Wine."   The other two tracks are from the 1990 album The Power of Pussy: "White Car Rental Blues" and the title track.

This doen't really add to the studio versions in a great way.  This is more like something archival I got to complete their discography in my collection.  I held them in that regard from around 1989 to 1992.  Some people I knew were into Double Bummer earlier, but I didn't really buy that until the CD was issued with the EP before it.  I did see them live at the Channel in Boston headlining in June 1991, several months after this recording.

A period piece for sure.

Bob opens Street-Legal.  Coincidentally, this was the amount of time he was a professional recording artist.  I wouldn't pin Bob on railing about his place in the marketplace, but I wouldn't put it past him to sneak it in either.  However, in my fantasy world,  Bob isn't bound by these earthly pursuits lyrically.  He can get paid and hash out issues with management and the help on his own ...
