I got a 14-piece order of low-end CD's and 8-tracks, some things I've written about before and some not, so this will keep the blog content going steady for the foreseeable future whether or not a few days go by without any sales.  I'll start with the easiest one, my third favorite Springsteen album and the first of his triad of peak-period A+ albums, Born To Run (Darkness On The Edge Of Town is my favorite followed by The River).  I have the CD long box 30th year anniversary version as well as a cassette and another 8-track that came back from refurbishing that I listened to last week.  It looks like my vinyl copy sold or went MIA at some point.  I got that copy under $2 in the early 80's sometime after Darkness & The River but before Born In The USA.

With Born To Run, the first thing that jarringly strikes me is the album kicks off with "Night" as opposed to "Thunder Road."  That song doesn't make it until the second track after "She's The One" gets the split-up Part 1/Conclusion treatment after "Meeting Across The River."  This resequencing changes the feel of the whole album.

The title track follows "Thunder Road" concluding track 2 as opposed to kicking off the second side.  This means the side closers are back-to-back at the end of the 8-track, "Backstreets" follows "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out" on track 3 and "Jungleland" remains the grand finale having track 4 all to itself.

Classic album shaken up; that's the reason why I'm into 8-tracks lately.
