The second installment of the Self Mutilation series from the Aussie label Hippy Knight had a Merge Records side and Flipside's LA band Sandy Duncan's Eye to go with the lone home country band Poppin' Momma from Geelong, Victoria.
Superchunk gave a demo version of one of their best songs, "Cool." Nothing new, everything is borrowed. Stole a bar, stole a drink. I never noticed Erectus Monotone are billed as Erectus Monotones, but here they are with "Tweeter & Quibble" before it came out on 1992's Erector Set on the Reve label. The Sandy Duncan's Eye track "Poisen Petrolium" closed out their 1992 debut album, leaving the Poppin' Mommas' "Now I Love Her" as the only exclusive song.
I heard this song on the radio once.
