The 1986 compilation from Kate Bush, The Whole Story, of course is no longer the whole story. She did move on to Columbia and had her biggest selling album, The Sensual World, right after this. However, her biggest hit remains "Running Up That Hill" from Hounds of Love included here. The new exclusive here was the vocal redo of "Wuthering Heights" to kick off the album.
For an overview of the first decade or so, it works quite well. I seem to remember her other titles not out on CD yet when this came out. Maybe Hounds of Love or The Dreaming were.
"The Man With The Child In His Eyes" came from The Kick Inside from early 1978 (which had the original Wuthering), "Wow" came from Lionheart later that year. 1980's Never For Ever had "Breathing," "Army Dreamers" and "Babooshka." "Sat In Your Lap" and the title track came from 1982's The Dreaming. 1985's Hounds Of Love had "Running Up That Hill," "Cloudbursting" and the title track. "Experiment IV" was from a single issued right before The Whole Story.
Still a good introduction even if it isn't "whole."
