This live record was issued after Chris Hillman left the band.  Gram Parsons was long gone and with Sneaky Pete and Bernie Leadon departing before, Chris was the sole founding member.   This caused the Burritos to be dropped and this issued to close out the contract.

The record kicks off with a spirited version of the band's best song "Devil In Disguise."  The crowd is sheiking like the band were teeny boppers at Dick Clark.  The album was actually recorded on college campuses: Dartmouth in Hanover, NH and Antioch in Yellow Springs, OH.  All that hootin and hollering make the band feel good Chris noted right before they tore into Don Reno & James Lunsford's co-written bluegrass number "Dixie Breakdown" originally performed by Reno & Smiley.

Gram Parsons was still alive when this album came out, so his songwriting presence is all over this set: "My Uncle," "High Fashion Queen" and "Hot Burrito #2" all still made the cut for the setlist in 1971.  As for covers, we get the Paul Davis 1961 standard (and of course Dave Dudley in 1963) "Six Days On The Road."  Going back we get Charlie Poole "Don't Let Your Deal Go Down" from 1925 and the Rouse Brothers "Orange Blossom Special" from 1939.  The Wilson Pickett B-side "Don't Fight It" came from 1965.  Homer Banks "A Lot of Love" came from 1966.  James Carr "A Losing Game" came from 1967.  Old time Bluegrass, Country and 60's Soul what what they mined to cover.
