The third Weezer album is an early aughts saturation rock album that I usually ignore. I picked it up after the year end Pazz & Jop critics poll had it in it's top 40.  I didn't care about Weezer or particularly like the first album despite it's Ric Ocasek production when it came out and ignored the second album completely even if it got cult status at some point.

Imagine my surprise when I started to enjoy whatever track I heard on this.  The only song I remembered was "Hash Pipe" and that was going through my head this morning.  However, it was the opening track, "Don't Let Go," that made my ears perk up.  At this point I like and recognize every track on here.   Despite the saturation mastering,  I appreciate the Ramones-like chord wall on almost every track.  I also appreciate the albums ten tracks clocking in under 30 minutes.  In this way they out Punk a major label contemporary like Green Day.  Makes me want to revisit their other albums I completely ignored.

Even the first one I didn't like.
