The heavy metal breakthrough for Quiet Riot after the 2 pre-Ozzy Randy Rhoads albums was a stunning breakthrough.  I witnessed them the week they were #1 on BIllboard, opening for Black Sabbath on the Born Again tour.  Kevin DuBrow hemmed and hawed about it as you would expect he would.  He had a ego matched at that point by maybe only Aldo Nova in the metal rags of the  day like Hit Parader and Circus.

I bought this album and loved it when it was new and probably purged it from my collection by 1985.  However, looking back on it, the hits were solid: both the Slade cover "Cum On Feel The Noize" and the mission statement "Metal Health."  Bang your head was really all it was about.  After the other radio hit "Slick Black Cadillac," the rest of the album tailed off.  "Run For Cover" was probably the next best rocker and the band used it to kick off their set back then.  I remember "Love's A Bitch" and the piano ballad "Thunderbird" that was rewritten to tribute Randy Rhoads.  

He's not a loser and he ain't no weeper!
