This early release on Dark Beloved Cloud I got maybe 10-15 years after release in the close out bin at Other Music across from Tower Records where the title was probably never stocked.  That label kept going until 2007.

This band was too early for the current vernacular definition of "VPN."  It was actually a renaming of the band Very Pleasant Neighbor after their bass/vocalist Gideon Kendall left the band. However you can stream their Beatles cover of "Hey Bulldog" from their cassette Boing Boing Boing Boing that preceded this single by a couple years via Gideon himself, so who knows what to think.

There has been some sort of reformation of Very Pleasant Neigbor replete with a Facebook page about wanting to reform before they are too old to play.  Oddly enough their flyer has them at the Bitter End, which is an odd spot for this band.  Bleecker Street bands generally (excluding LPR) aren't known for avant-garde lo fi releases from 35 years ago.

All of this is more than I ever wanted to know about a band with a cool Beatle cover.
