The debut from Dutch new wave 70's band Gruppo Sportivo had one foot in prog and another in 60's "Beep Beep Love" has a tangential Beatles feel of "All You Need Is Love" and "Superman" musically quotes both Zappa's "Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance" from We're Only In It For Money and Del Shannon's "Runaway" keyboards.  Later "I Shot My Manager" combines Marley's "I Shot The Sheriff" with the B-52's.  "Armee Monika" has some marching that would segue way nicely into the Sex Pistols "Holiday In The Sun."   Some of the other tracks are a little too close to kitsch musical theatre of the late 70's, close to the Meat Loaf zone, but those were the times.

For me the 2 best songs on the album, "Mission A Paris" and "Rock and Roll" are the best songs on the record.   "Mission A Paris" seemed instantly familiar and I don't think it is because it lifts the Kim Fowley written 1962 instrumental "Nut Rocker" by Jack B Nimble and the Quicks.  She'll buy a dictionary and look up what was said to her.   "Rock and Roll" is even better because every major instrument--guitar, bass, drums is given a vocal sound.  An original definition.

The copy I sold was a UK copy that had a price sticker of $12.00 (I didn't pay anywhere near that) and also a label that says "Tit cover."  I thought there was a non-prurient US version, but I can't seem to find one ever being issued in the US.  The grabbed breast is pretty much on every one of the 22 editions released in Europe over the years.  Unless you know different.

Eh eh eh, boom boom boom, do do do do do.  Rock and roll!
