Downtown NYC noise rock with so-to-be Unsane drummer Vinnie Signorelli joining Branca's Carolyn Master and former Swan bass player Algis Kyzis. This is clearly high art pedigree stamped with a Wharton Tiers production.
This is dense art rock, difficult to remember even after multiple listens. My favorite track is called "Came To Need." It has a guitar atmosphere right out of Black Sabbath's "Supertzar" without anything grandiose or operatic. Carolyn Master's vocals sound like a cross between Patti Smith and Thalia Zadek. "Stranger" takes on more of an ethereal quality that stands out after repeated listens of the album. "Faucet" has the other end of the spectrum with Kyzis howl and a relentless punishing rhythm to open the record.
Droning atmospherics prevail.
