As solid as a basic Aerosmith Greatest Hits as you could hope for, this 70's cap off released in 1980 as a Nice Price afterthought has evolved into being a 12 Milion and counting seller in the US.  It took 6 years to sell it's first million from 1980-1986 and was last certified at 12 Million in 2021, four years after it hit the 11 million mark.  For people that want the 70's hits but not the later pop ones.  That compilation is called O Yeah and that was certified 3 million also in 2021.

So, while it doesn't make up for the individual albums, it does spare the completist the need to buy the Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band soundtrack for the song "Come Together."  I had that 7" as a kid, but it's far easier to have it here with the other hits.  Since I listened to Night In The Ruts a few times yesterday, I super-duper had my fill of their cover of "Remember" and really don't need to hear "Dream On" or "Walk This Way" in any sort of concentrated, repeated fashion.  Life took care of that for me.  That said, I was still wondering if I should straight up give this an A+, but my desire just to go back to the 70's albums if I'm going to hear these songs wins out.

Still as far as greatest hits albums go it is great not just for what it includes, but what it leaves out.  Short and sweet and to the point.  The 70's pop hits.  You want the "better" songs, go to the albums or Live Bootleg.  You want the crap and the AOR mainstays not here, get O Yeah.

This is as advertised.
