Elvis compilations come and go, but this particular one from the 70's is a bit of a classic.  The first half of a 4 volume, 2-piece record set.  This 8-track has the first 25 and cuts off in the early 60's.  Enough to garner a "5-star" rating in the Rolling Stone Record Guide in the 70's along with the in-era Elvis' Golden Hits.  Most of those tracks are on here, but you have some good later post-Army ones as well.

These originally came out in 1970 in 4 record set entitled Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits.  In 1974 the first half was recompiled as Worldwide Gold Award Hits Vol. 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 were issued in 1978. One thing about this release is that everything was in Mono.  If I somehow got the dates wrong, blame it on the many ways to reconfigure Elvis.  This particular edition was certified Gold & Platinum in 1999,  just due to being available 25 years.

The Colonel was still living and he was going to wring out every last dollar.
