To date 117 Elvis Presley albums have charted the Billboard 200.  Return of the Rocker issued in 1986 is not one of them.  Conceptually, it is a sequel to the 1984 Rocker compilation which graced the bottom half of the chart.  The popularity of the material within, however, is mostly charting singles from Elvis' post Army years 1960-1963.

I got this as a free promo but I have no recollection of actually playing it, so the track listing was a total surprise to me.  I had a 50-cent copy of Elvis Is Back! I got at a yard sale as well as the third gold record volume of hit singles early in the 80's.  They didn't garner much play.  If I was gonna listen to Elvis, I stuck to pre-Army.  However, most of the tracks included within were either well known or at least familiar listening to this, even without the act of chosing this era to listen to.

From 1960 you get "Stuck On You" the first single out of the Army.  You also get  the B-side of "It's Now or Never" called "A Mess of Blues."  You also get "Make Me Know It" and "Like A Baby" from Elvis Is Back!  From 1961 you get the single "His Latest Flame" b/w "Little Sister."  You also get "I Want You With Me" and "I'm Comin' Home" from Something For Everybody.   From 1962 you get "King of the Whole Wide World" as well as the #1 hit "Return To Sender" from Girls! Girls! Girls!.  You also get the title song from Follow That Dream.  From 1963 you get "Witchcraft" the flip-side of "Bossa Nova Baby" which charted the lower regions of the top 40.

Worth having for free or cheap if you don't have the music somewhere else.
