Where and When Bought: Newbury Comics Shrewsbury MA 99 cent singles bin late 90's or so
Gwiz-gau Letter Grade: B+
Sad To See It Go: No
I remember some girl on the garage rock scene that hung out at Marz Bar and was talking about "Dim Bob!" with such enthusiasm I bought their CD Bad With Wimmin. I still have that CD sitting in storage, but this single I saw a few years later with the A-side from the album was sitting in the 99 cent bin at Newbury Comics when my friend John worked there briefly and took me for a visit.
The cover of "Mexico Americano" that was on the album was originally by Los Pingüinos Del Norte who were issued by the legendary Folk label Arhoolie in 1975. The B-side is an original instrumental not on the album. Rumor has it Dim Bob was German-American. However, he does a compelling cover in Spanish.
Mexican by ancestry. American by destiny.
