The Doors first and probably best album was their self-titled debut.  There may be some later tracks I like a little more but "Take It As It Comes" is probably in my top 3 or so.  We were just talking about the abrupt AM edit of "Light My Fire" in practice the other night but on this album, it is in all its extended glory. Soul Kitchen. Break On Through. Back Door Man.  All on one record.  And The End wraps it all up in its violent epic splendor.

I could go on and on but there really isn't a non-classic cut on here.  Maybe "I Looked At You" and "End Of The Night" are the also rans but who cares when you've got Crystal Ship/20th Century Fox and Alabama Song all on the other side?   My dollar bin copy of this was scratched to shit on side two which is why I graded it F and sold it for six bucks when this pressing averages $30 on the median and a clean copy cracks $160.   I misheard "men, eat your dinner" all these years.  I like my words better than the great poet.  I never realized Jim ate chicken either.

You can eat your fritter, eat your pork and beans.
