Straight outta Wormtown, the woofa goofa mama tuffa's 1970 debut hard drives it's way into your heart and mind. Wait. Stop a minute! Don't! Go too far! The kick-off to the record, "Wait" is a great one and sets the stage for a whole career.
Covers are the name of the game: The Contours "First I Look At The Purse" from 1965, the title track from John Lee Hooker's 1966 album It Serves You Right To Suffer, "Homework" by Otis Rush from 1962, Big Walter Price "Pack Fair and Square" from 1956 and Albert Collins "Sno Cone" from 1965. Blues, R&B and Rock 'n' Roll songs that create a template for "Juke Joint Jimmy." Jimmy appears as a writer for the single A-side. It's a band pseudonym.
This record aged well.
