Original Sex Pistols producer Dave Goodman got the sack and formed a "sound-alike" band in 1979. He originally did the Spunk recordings in 1976. Eventually there was a 1992 court ruling just in time for the Pistols reunion where Goodman not only could not use the name "Ex Pistols" but he wasn't allowed to make music that imitated the band even though on a later record Glen Matlock made an appearance.
Goodman also had legal issues from the nick of Elgin's Pomp and Circumstance that opened up the A-side. The sticker on the cover proudly asserts "the record they tried to ban" as well as a cease-and-desist letter from Elgin's publishing company Boosey and Hawkes on the back of the cover. There is a response letter that Elgin rearranges Bach and the Ex Pistols won't be dictated to. The B-side is a parody of Johnny Rotton/Lydon's PiL entitled "The Flowers of Romansk."
Good clean fun for any well rounded library.
