CCR's 2nd is so good I have very little to say about it. Yeah, you get my second favorite CCR number after "Fortunate Son," the album opening "Born On A Bayou." You also get "Proud Mary" in the middle of the second side. They might be kings of the 3 minute single, but the epics fade out sometimes if not hammered out to completion.
So what of the rest? All top tier, my friend. There are only 5 more tracks and I guess the band standard of those is the grand finale "Keep On Chooglin'." This leaves us with "Bootleg," "Graveyard Train" and "Penthouse Pauper" as well as the Little Richard cover "Good Golly Miss Molly" that opens side one. I had an idea that this was one of if not the best of the studio CCR albums, but that could be Willie and The Poor Boys or it could be Green River.
It's all based on your mood that day.
