Love Man Barry White's calling card had the inescapable "You're The First, The Last, My Everything" with it's crushing string intro come after a mood setting instrumental intro. The other megahit opens the second side "I Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe."
I purchased a lot of one or two dollar cassettes recently and this was in the box. By coincidence I also bought the vinyl in a record lot around the same time so there are no regrets for this one going out the door to Canada for $15. For an old tape it played well. I haven't had much luck buying and flipping cassettes, but this one was a smashing success. It goes to show you, all it takes is one!
Anyway the whole album is 5 songs plus an intro and outro. Somewhere between Isaac Hayes and Quiet Storm, Of the rest, "I Love You More Than Anything (In This World Girl) was the one that stands out for me. This hit #1 on the Billboard album chart in October '74 with those two massive singles and it seems to have picked up respect in the last 20 years after being somewhat ignored critic wise. I like that this album is short, to the point and a strong, enjoyable listen start to finish. This doesn't have a factory feel the way many string productions did in the 70's as Disco went on.
Finders, keepers, losers weepers!
