I let this debut Tad single go well below the median after around a decade of trying to get a hundred bucks plus or minus for it. $70 instead ain't gonna kill me, this was just sitting in a storage pile year after year so if someone finally wanted it for a deal so be it. It's not like I let it go for five bucks.
When I first heard it, I thought it wasn't anything particularly special and compared to the monolith album that came after it, God's Balls, it always sounded a little flat. Maybe because Tad played everything on this record and became a band after. This single ended up getting folded into later digital versions of the album that came out the next year.
The B-side was the more memorable of the two. He's got a rock in his hand and a pain in his chest. The A-side I didn't even remember which was shocking since at some point everything Tad did for Sub Pop was worthy of listening and worship. Hell, I even endured a nasty flu to force myself to the Rat on a cold March night to see him for the first time.
I was really fuckin' sick!
