Toxic Shock Records from Tucson, AZ where a Hardcore label that put all these bands out in the late 80's.  This one has them each doing a cover.

The Boston vs Austin carved in the dead wax begin the side with with a rippin' cover of "Highway Star."  Hullabaloo were one of the great unsung Boston bands of the late 80's and one of the few Noise Rock bands to come out of that town with appeal beyond the city.  This version of the Deep Purple warhorse is chaotic vocally and I thought it was memorable.  Austin Cowpunk band The Hickoids fresh off their We're Only In It For The Corn do their goofball rendition of the "Green Acres" TV show theme.

The Sammy vs Cher side starts with House of Large Sizes from Cedar Falls, Iowa doing Cher's "Half Breed" in a straight-forward indie rock styling.  One time Alternative Tentacles band Sloppy Seconds from Indianapolis take on Sammy Davis Jr.'s "Candy Man."

He makes the world taste good!
