I didn't realize it in 2002, but this may very well be the album that made me somewhat lose interest in Trans Am.  I mean, that didn't happen as the last article I wrote about them detailed seeing them 2010 in Berlin.  However, this album seems to have a core influence of Depeche Mode.  Since I just can't get enough of not listening to Depeche, the music here went by the wayside.  Mostly.

So what are the good songs on this?  I count two.  The closer, "Infinite Wavelength" has a Six Finger Satellite feel from the Severe Exposure period.  The Latin influenced "Basta" also sounds like a fun party.  The rest is synths, plaintive vocals and programming.  Occasionally you are relived to hear the very real drums and mop your brow accordingly.

You woulda thunk the critics would eat this up, but they seemed to enjoy savaging this band as well upon release.   A cursory look at reviews on the net bear this out.

Ya can't please 'em all!
