World War IX are one of those "new bands" that are actually 15+ years old now.  I saw these guys at Hank's in Brooklyn and was impressed enough to buy this single from them.  I didn't remember anything from this 4-song EP.  I didn't even remember they included a CD-R with the same 4 songs.  After listening to the record then the CD I realized why.  The vinyl mastering sounds like shit!  The recording is fine.

I wasn't thinking later day Circle Jerks when I saw the band, but that is who they sound like on this record.  The B-side aka the "Other Side" has the better songs.  All can be heard in streamland, although it must be noted as I write this the songs are mislabeled by the distribution.  Shit happens, you have the right links here until they fix it.

The first track actually has a video (!).  You can watch that too.  What the record lacks in audio clarity it makes up for in packaging:  a brown paper bag printed from ULINE where one can order a plethora of boxes.  The ones for vinyl always seem to be either too snug or too big, but they are the cheapest game in town.  At least to my knowledge.

Enjoyable bar band punk rock.
