"You fucked me bad. And you fucked me GOOD!"

Rumblepuppy I thought were a DC area band in location and sound.  No shock there that drummer Colin Sears was in Dag Nasty early on and Alloy after that.  The surprise to me  was that the band address was in Northampton, MA although the label was out of Bethesda, MD.  While I eagerly bought records like this, Rumblepuppy looked better than it sounded.  Vocalist Emil Bushi went on to Grass Records band The Marshes.  I had no idea about any of this until poking around.

There were some musical good moments spread on the 4 sides of this double single.  The chugging guitar opening leads to an ok solo in "Before The World Falls Apart" and the unexpected bleating horns at the end during "Crazy Fees."

The vocals were the atonal side of Dischord.  Artier (and more tolerable) than pop punk.  That said I liked the lyrics of "Mole's Eye" and "Retreat" and the shamble-melodies of "When I'm With You" and "High Hills."   Sorry you can't stream any of these, but the next and final release, Jeez-Ooze from 1992 is up for you to ponder.

They're putting in a parking lot!
