The Sphinctour was Ministry's 60 dates in 1996.  The tour was also documented on a companion DVD.  I missed this one, I saw them as Roskilde in 1999 and saw the seminal Land of Rape and Honey tour at the Channel in Boston as well as The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste at the same venue.   The album of the "Spinctour" that was being toured on was Filth Pig, the last Ministry record I cared about after falling off during their commercial peak with Psalm 69.  I remember that tour coming to Madison Square Garden and not caring much.   I wanted sweat and a chain link fence above me!   The Garden was actually the last time I witnessed Ministry, they were warming  up for Slayer's final tour a few years back.  I also saw them at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ a few years before that, and I feel caught up after 15 years off.

The same thing I liked about Filth Pig, I like about the tracks played on this tour.  And guess what, Psalm 69 gets the most burn: "Just One Fix," "N.W.O." "Scarecrow," "Hero" and the title track all make it on this 11 track release.  The touring album also gets 5, leaving only "Theives" from the the twin towers of the Ministry catalog.  This release often has the song introduced before it is played, which sort've gets in the way on some level.

"That Al Jourgensen.  He takes too much acid."
