Along with Run With The Pack this represents a holding pattern for Bad Company.  Good enough for Zep to put them out, BadCo was hot straight out of the gate in 1974.  Cranking out an album a year, by the time 1977 rolled around Rodgers and Company were a fine tuned machine.  Maybe a little too fine tuned on Burnin' Sky.  "Knapsack (The Happy Wanderer)" indicates at least they were  having a little fun.

A lightning bolt kicks off the title track, the strongest and most universally familiar cut on the album.  As for the also rans,  "Leaving You" is probably the best track  of side one.  The rest is decent enough.  Hell, the band featured 7 songs on this arena tour in 1977 and the record made top 20.  That said, the band didn't add these songs to their set much afterwards.  Maybe here and there.

"Man Needs Woman, "Heartbeat," "Leaving You," "Like Water," "Too Bad," and "Morning Sun."  Any of them ring a  bell for you?  Me neither until I gave this a few concentrated spins.

Barn-a-ree, Barn-a-ra!
