20 years into his career, Chicago via Memphis and Houston guitarist Fenton Robinson has a sound that gets around.  More than any one song, it is the GUITAR that explodes out at you on this recording, his 4th full length 

I'm not a "tone" guy, but damn this tone is good.  Ice on glass good.  Just round and full bodied as all hell.  With that guitar, you can't criticize anything else.  If you do, well what the hell do you want anyway?  It sure ain't the Blues. "Way Out West" is probably my Exhibit A case and point.

Chicago Electric Blues had been around and acknowledged worldwide for sometime when this came out.  Alligator had a mission to make the sound living as opposed to a museum or the grave.  The man can sing with passionate vibrato and the man can play with the best.  And the title track is ace for situational drama.

That Blues downstairs can indeed be dirty.
