Columbus, OH's The Godz (not to be confused with the NYC ESP-Disk Godz) were a hard rock biker band. This second album was their big shot to be on the Casablanca roster with Kiss, Lenny & The Squigtones and Robin Williams not to mention Donna Summer. This one performed similar to the first on Millennium Records scraping the bottom of the Billboard 200 at #189 for a two week run before going into cutout bins across the land.
But what of the music? Think the spelling ability of Slade, a wink of Kiss-style commercialism, the fanbase of BOC and the occasional 50's retro of the Dictators meets, yes, Meat Loaf or the Grease Soundtrack.
Sometimes it works: "He's A Fool" combines a Gary Glitter glam arena stomp with background singers out of Rocky Horror Picture Show. "I'll Bi Yer Luv" foreshadows The Cult. "Snakin'" proclaims The Godz know only three things: how to take care of the ladies, how to get REAL high and the task at hand.
Rock and roll!
