Densely packed Netherlands  compilation with a couple US Homestead records standard bearers like Sonic Youth and the Membranes from Blackpool, UK as well as Amersterdam's most famous anarcho-export The Ex.  Some of the names like BGK and Negazione  may be know by even the most casual browser of Maximum Rock N Roll in the 80's.  Many of the other bands are a blur of Holland anonymity and underground genres befitting of an anarcho co. Almost everything sounds interesting.   The compilation is named after the Amsterdam squat venue Emma where these artists within played.

After all these years I forgot that the sides were mislabeled so 1 & 3 are on the first disc and 2 & 4 on the second.  I had it penned in for DJ purposes since the  labels themselves were wrong.  I never for a second imagined that I would ever CONSIDER selling this, let alone the act of doing it.  But here we are and I am probably playing this for the first couple times since I bought it used in the late 80's.  Luna the cat had her way with the spine on this (hence "heavy spine wear" noted in the condition) and she probably got more use out of the record than I did in the 90's and aughts.

There is certainly quite a bit of quality stuff on here.  So much of it you really have to disect it a bit in smaller doses.  I think the person who posted it got it right be chopping it into quarters instead of the whole thing.  Side B has a nice little run Gronigen's Vacuum sound like they have a dog for a vocalist.  Harlaam's Sjako! sounds like mid-70's Cleveland Proto-Punk with "Here Come The Weirdos."  No Pigz is an early contribution from Guy Pinhas who went on to bass for the Obsessed, Goatsnake and Acid King.  The track was obliterating in it's own right and I never would have known if I didn't like it enough to look into the roots of No Pigz.

"Brother James" by Sonic Youth is a peak era Kim Gordon yell.  UBCF has a standout closer of the 4th side with "No Nazies" (the spelling changed to "No Nazis" for their 1986 album Silent Resistance.

Overall a solid overall mid-80's comp with plenty of bands to explore further.
