From Isla Vista, CA (at least on their debut cassette), This particular single was mixed by the infamous Mike Rep.  Monoshock dealt in overdriven indie psychedelic with screaming out of Lou Barlow.  The best of the 3 cuts is the opening B-side "Hawkwind Show."  I was going to say tribute, but the subject was merely met at the show.  Now this song is going through my head, so I'm going to bump the grade up.  I never would have know I really like this song if I hadn't sold this and listened to it a few times to write about it.

"Everything Near Me" is a cover of the Mirrors, a Cleveland proto-punk band that existed 1973-5.  A record collectors dream band I discovered later on the Mondostereo compilation with mostly kings of the late 80's underground.

The A-side was the most overdriven and there are many bands that sound like this.  Duos even.  Although some Stooges style leads emerge from the over the top distortion and male screaming in high non-metal range, the track seemed a bit by-the-numbers.

I saw you at the Hawkwind show!
