"War!  Waaaaar! Good God Y'all!..." kicks of DOA's rendition of Edwin Starr's War.  A war themed 8-song EP, War On 45 perhaps named from the medley craze from the year before.  The covers are well chosen for 1982.  Danchall's Wailing Souls featuring Ranking Trevor's "War In The East" and The Dils "Class War" close side 2 and a reworking of Chris Montez by way of da brudders closing side one with a fornication theme.

War On 45 caps of DOA's peak era.  The band standards on this are the double dose "I'm Right, You're Wrong" and "America The Beautiful."  A Canadian's perspective on the spread of the "new right."  It was still the era where Canadian punks addressed the US as home of the brave for better or worse.

Joey Shithead is no peace punk.  "I Hate You" is a serious missive of mutual dislike.  Somehow Jerry Falwell gets lumped in the opener "Liar For Hire."  Televangelists were easy targets of religious cold war among the youth.  Everybody universally dislikes them except the people keeping their golden coffers afloat.  Easier to dislike from afar, as opposed to hot, head losing, religious war we've managed to avoid.

War in the East.  War in The West.  4 decades later it is still an all encompassing truism, either active or potential.

That's the theme, after all.
