Cleveland's Pagans were one of my favorite 70's discoveries.  WICN program director Mike Malone had the Buried Alive compilation and used "Street Where Nobody Lives" in a promo when I started DJing there.  What a classic batch of singles on that album.

Somebody bought a consignment copy of "Not Now No Way" off me 5 years ago with a trashed sticky blotch on one side that a friend of mine called a "delete."  The buyer still paid $75 for it just because he wanted a clean label.  Normally this would be in the $150-200 range, maybe more now that rare punk vinyl is exploding exponentially price-wise.  Pagans have been a collectors band for decades, at least the original 70's singles.

But this late 80's reissue of these two great tracks is worth 10-15.  The music?  Priceless in it's snotty splendor.  It wouldn't sound out of place on Buried Alive, but it's exclusion meant a mandatory purchase in 1987.  "Don't Leave Me Alone" is the memorable track, the B-side is a live rendition of "Real World."  Another great Pagans album, Live: The Godlike Power of The Pagans came out in 1987, and I played that one to death.  In fact, I would say the Pagans were my gateway to Treehouse records and made me pay closer attention to The Cows first album when it came into WICN.  For some reason the Pagans album was never promoed, but of course I bought that one.  Buried Alive took longer to find, maybe Newbury Comics had it.

Mike Hudson is missed.
