Where and When Bought: from band at show

Gwiz-gau Letter Grade: A

Sad To See It Go: no

When The Reverse Collector (TM) spins a yarn, sometimes it results in a tangent sale a week later.  I spoke of the Tar performance Billy Ruane did at the Middle East in Cambridge, Massachusetts that I managed to see.  This was the record I bought at said performance.  This single  stands with any of the more "popular" Tar releases.

There is scant evidence this show ever happened.  Just my memory banks.  And this record.

Who is Mel?  Why has he lost his lease?  What will he do?  These are the questions one ponders when hearing the B-side. long after the insistent chord of side one repeats into the abyss,  Engineered by "King Barbecue," one of the many Albini alter egos.  Such is fitting for this band from Chicago.  They don't need to name drop.

I had a shirt I also bought at this show.  It was a one-side big red face with the infamous Tar logo.  Maybe it still sits in a bag in storage, but it was a "shrinker" even then and I'm sure it would now be in my "belly tee" collection.  Although it was one of those nice loose cotton variety that you can get away with it being undersized easier than some of those Fruit of the Loom shirts.  It was a little too small 30 years ago.

I shudder at the thought of attempting to wear it now.
