Dolomite were one of those complete non-descript Chrome/Big Black inspired bands from Chicago that I loved so much in it's era.  They actually evolved into putting out a full lenght on the Thrill Jockey label around the time Neil Rosario joined Red Red Meat on guitar.  Drummer Rian Murphy was a bit more prolific being a manager at Drag City and having a hand in many of that labels releases in the 90's, even a co-bill release with Will Oldham. Turns out it wasn't the anonymous one off that I thought it was, but it was a debut release.

This particular record reminded me of a cross of Arsenal, Slint and Nirvana.  The Chicago brand.  Some muttering, some quiet singing, some indeciperable yelling and ranting.  All with the pattented post-punk guitar.  And guess what.  It was recorded by "Steve" at "The Basement."

Attributions and identifications do not serve this record well.
