Of the first 5, I always thought VHII to be the weakest of Van Halen's peak run.  Some people will never forgive them for their top 40 hit "Dance The Night Away," but that isn't anywhere near the worst song on the album.  Actually, that beat the opening track by far, a hard rockified version of Linda Ronstadt's "You're No Good."

Where Van Halen II can't be denied are the rock radio mainstays: "Somebody Get Me A Doctor," "Bottoms Up!" and "Beautiful Girls."  Tech heads were mumbling about "Spanish Fly" long before Van Hagar eradicated Diamond Dave's cheeks once and for all.  His musings about "Women In Love" and "Outta Love Again" would be left to history.  Dead or Alive. A dirty faced kick in a garbage can.

Dave just laughs it off.
