As I was listening to "Bus Stop" into "Carrie Ann" the other day, I was thinking to myself "this has to be some of the whitest music imaginable." The thuds and yells continued to echo in my building. Whether they were yells of pair or if they could even hear the Hollies in the distance was of no matter to me.
Actually, that initial off the cuff assessment wasn't even correct when you flip the side over because you have the 1969 AM uber-ballad "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother." There are some rockers:the 1972 Creedence-like to the point I thought it was Creedence at first "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress." Mostly though it's the Graham Nash years that dominate: "King Midas In Reverse," "Pay You Back With Interest" and "On A Carousel" are all cheere-o! WIth that little dark underpinning occasionally so you barely notice it's there.
Hey! Wait a minute!!!
