There has been a run on EC8OR CD's that have been sitting in storage 15 years lately.  This is the debut album which features "Cocaine Ducks,"  the single that Grand Royal put out in 1996 in a 7" series of Digital Hardcore release.  I liked that record enough to track this down at import price.

While I have been sitting on this release 2 weeks after writing about the shorter one, the Grand Royal compilation that came out in 1997 sold to a different buyer.  I'll write about that one tomorrow to get them both out of the way, but essentially that cherry picked tracks from everything to date including this one.

One thing I noticed is EC8OR is much better in smaller doses.  "I hate you shit/I hate your manners" Gina V. D'Orio rails to an imagined socialite.  "We Are Pissed!" she informs us in unison with Patric Cantani which made it to the "Cocaine Ducks" b-side. The next big hit that stood out was "Discriminate (Against) The Next Fashionsucker You Meet - It's A Raver!!!!!!!!"  And to think I thought she was shouting  "Ich möchte lieber."    There are German titles: "Lichterloh" and "Ich Suche Nichts," but they aren't catchphrase numbers.  There's also a bit of insufferable digiwakery filler like "Cheap Drops."  It is telling that 7 of the 16 tracks here were left off the US compilation in favor of the Spex Is A Fat Bitch EP tracks.  However, for archival purposes the band left the German versions of the releases up on the web and the Beastie Boys curating has since gone by the wayside.

They're screaming "möchte lieber!"
