I figured I might as well write about the other Devo comp that sold with Greatest Misses the other day. That would be it's alpha companion piece, Greatest Hits. All my favorites: "Jocko Homo," "Gates of Steel," "Beautiful World," "Satisfaction" with songs I initially couldn't stand but of course noticed like "Working In A Coal Mine" and "Peek A Boo." It's all there and it can't be denied.
I finally got around to watching the videos for half these tracks. "Whip It" of course and "Peek A Boo" I remembered in its day and also Freedom of Choosing Donuts, but the rest I hadn't seen except maybe a snippet of Satisfaction. There was a whole new world for mainstays like "Girl U Want," "Through Being Cool" and "Beautiful World" and even the previously ignored by me "That's Good."
Whips, conical hats, glasses and rubber masks.
For you.
