Just another punk band from Croyden.
I bought this single in a stack at Intoxica on a visit to London back in 2000 or so. No hard reason, I knew nothing about the band except they were on Harvest and the record looked cool and reasonably priced in a white sleeve. That price seems to be worth pennies now in the UK but we still have to pay for shipping here, so the buy that got this got a deal and bundled it with other garage rock singles for me to write about.
The A-side is a cover of the San Jose quartet Syndicate of Sound with their Nuggets classic "Little Girl" from 1966. The B-side I guess is a band original. The Banned never release a full album The singer Paul Aiken went on to be in the bands Precious Little, The Spacewalkers and The Retros. It seems like the Retros are a long running cover band.
Harvest jumping on the punk bandwagon.
