There has been a 2024 30th anniversary reissue of the original European single edit of "Stay Together" backed with "The Living Dead" issued by Elvis Costello's long running Demon label. I had this from a discarded collection for many years with other Suede (London Suede here) titles that have still gone unsold, but I wrote about the first one a few years back. I didn't really like it that much, but I like this EP.
The single has a nice guitar overlay and there is good guitar all over the record making the vocals seem less foppish. I doubt Bernard Butler changed all so much in a year, but I liked most of the songs here. The single is the winner by far, might as well go for the long one that wound up on a maxi-single in it's day. "My Dark Star" was on the 3-song 12" with the original single.
So many variations, so little time!
